Must Be Nutt's (Part 4) Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Cache-tech: I have been looking at caches in the area that have been temporarily disabled for a while now and it looks like your cache has been under the weather for some time. While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time I don’t think we can do so any longer. Therefore, I have archived this cache.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future. If you do not plan on replacing/repairing your cache, please CITO any remains returning the site to the original state before you placed your cache.

Thanks for your understanding,
Cache-tech

How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

Pirate John Nutt lived in Torbay in the 1600s. While he seemed to have been a fairly decent man (for a pirate), it's easy to imagine him hiding his treasure along the Torbay coast.

This is a simple off-set multi-cache, comprised of two stages. The first contains the coordinates for the second.

Also, the inside of the lid of the final stage of this cache contains part of the co-ordinates for the Puzzle Cache "Must Be Nutt's (Part 5)" (http://coord.info/GC2G540). Take note of these if you are doing the series!!

The caches in this series are:

They can be done in any order, as long as the fifth one is done last. I strongly recommend starting at one and working up, though, for the sake of travel economy.

Safety Note: This cache goes near some rather tricky bits of trail. There are some steep drop-offs and some vigorous descents. Those with children, dogs, dodgy knees, traitorous ankles or a paralytic fear of cliffs would be best advised to use caution.

This cache can be approached from several directions. It can be reached from Flatrock, via the ECT. It can be accessed from the Father Troy Path, to which there are many access points in Torbay (Gallows Cove Road might be your best bet). It can also be reached from an access on Windgap Road, just before descending into Flatrock.

More about John Nutt:

John Nutt continued using unemployed sailors, particularly those conscripted to press gangs, and actually lured away a significant number from the Royal Navy paying regular wages and commissions.

He also offered his services to protect French and English settlements including the Colony of Avalon then under the leadership of George Calvert.
