This is an entrance to Santa Susana Pass State Park. The gate is always open.
A few years ago Los Angeles Parks and Rec closed the main entrance to Chatsworth Park South. The official account for park closure states lead contamination as shot gun pellets were found on the grounds. Many moons ago this area was a shooting range. It is unknown at this time if Chatsworth Park South will ever be reopened. A fence now in place around the park has cut off access to several caches.
We found this entrance while looking for a way to get to the Chatsworth Park South caches. This entry is to Santa Susana Pass State Park, which conveniently backs up to CPS, also connecting to the Devils Slide Trail which runs through CPS.
Hunting for this cache will only take you a little ways past the gate. Available 24 hrs, watch out for wildlife, especially at night.
