In the early 1910's and early 1920's a real estate developer decided he was going to develop the west side of Beach. To start the project he constructed a sidewalk that started from down town Beach and extened one mile to the west. This became known as The Mile Side Walk. For what ever reason this is as far as the project ever developed.
The cache is micro so BYOP.
