Geocache Description:

Cache is located at Ritchie Wharf. Terrain shouldn’t be a problem. Use extreme stealth when avoiding muggles in this area. Summer may not be the best time to hunt for this cache due to the popularity of this park, but it would make for an interesting challenge.

Ritchie Wharf is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Miramichi. Many small shops and buildings are located on this property, but one house in particular offers a glance into our history - the Murray House.

After the Great Miramichi Fire of 1825, the Former Town of Newcastle was in a state of disrepair and called upon the talents of Scottish master builder, William Murray. Murray built numerous houses and churches in the Newcastle area, including his own home, now known as the Murray House.

The Murray House was relocated to Ritchie Wharf in an attempt to pay tribute to the late William Murray. Although the house is currently closed to the public, renovations and structural repair are scheduled to revitalize this property.

Cache is a small camo’d Lock N Lock. Original contents are: logbook, pencil, pencil sharpener, and ‘muggle card’ (please leave these items in the cache). Original tradable items include: wooden toy block, red die, silver toy car, “Donkey” card game, and William Murray Travel Bug.
