You will understand the name of this cache once you make the trek to find it. It's like a horror movie for trees! The cache was placed shortly after the forest was cleared. I'm sure the forest will be healthier for it, but it's sad to see. Still, you will see gorgeous views on the way to the cache.
There are two possible ways to get there. You can take the tram and hike about 1.1 miles North towards the cache or you can park at Sandia Peak and hike about 0.4 miles south. Either way has good trails. Follow directions to the Kiwanis Cabin. Cache is located at the intersection of the trails to the tram and the Kiwanis Cabin.
Cache is slightly off trail to escape the view of muggles. It is a small to medium sized plastic container covered with camouflage tape. Filled with lots of SWAG goodies.
