We thought this a fitting place for a cache in memory for our mother. These ball diamonds are home to the Regina Minor Softball League. The league was established in 1969 when this area was nothing but prairie grass and gopher holes. Mrs. K., along with a handful of other dedicated people were the founders of what was then “Regina Northside Minor Girls League.”
Mrs ‘K” is what many of our friends knew our mother as. This is part of a poem written as a tribute to our mom, Mrs “K” in 1983.
Mrs. “K”
“Mom’s the word”, they say
They were referring to Mrs. “K”
Need something, you say
I know; Ask Mrs. “K”
Feeling down and out today
Go ahead, call Mrs. “K”
Absolutely anything is okay
When you talk to Mrs. “K”
Want some advice today
Don’t go away, here comes Mrs. “K”
When love is needed in any way
Always count on Mrs. “K” ….
