The dam here produced power in the early 1900's for Mr. Putnam and was later sold to the Baskahegan Company. It is located on the Baskahegan River and holds the body of water known as the Crooked Brook Flowage behind it. This cache can be tricky to a newbie, post a DNF and I will email you a hint. Please use stealth as muggles can spot you from many different places!
The dam here produced DC power, not like the AC that we use today. This caused several problems as the voltage decreased the further away you were from the dam. The major reason Mr. Putnam built the dam was to run the mill nearby. It since has stood the test of time and often flows level across its top in the spring with impressive views that has water flowing directly into the "river house" that sits just below the railroad bridge. This area often has wildlife and some of the first geese of the spring land here in the open water near the dam.
