Geocache Description:

You're looking for an ammo box.

This bridge, built in 1939, was a gateway to Tillman County from Texas for almost 60 years. When I was a kid and my folks would travel to Vernon occasionally, we would challenge each other to hold our breath across the length of the bridge.

Nowadays, the bridge is primarily used by the residents of Davidson, some of whom have personalized the new bridge with spray paint, and others who use it for walks across the scenic Red River. On weekend evenings, the establishment just north of the bridge can get busy, so be advised.

This cache was hidden on 10/10/10, and is my contribution to 10 years of geocaching.
