National Pass-time Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Hoosier_Reviewer: Attention cache owner,

It has been brought to my attention that the Charles C. Deam Wilderness area now prohibits geocaching.

The land managers have requested that we archive all active caches and prohibit all new caches. If you feel that there is an error and your cache isn't on their property, please email me at Hoosierreviewer@gmail.com

Thanks,

Hoosier Reviewer

Geocache Description:

A tribute to sports! (At which I suck...)

An ammo can 123 feet from the posted coordinates. But where?

This one is a sturdy ammo can that pays tribute to our National Pass-time! Apparently, there's some game played with a ball where you have to interact with other people, many of whom you don't even know! Ewwwwww.....! I do have vague memories of Dad trying to get me into sports. We'd go out to the ball field and try to hit field goals, or take the ol' football out and try to get a hole in one. One time I got lucky with a nine-iron and hit a home run! I was never too good at hockey, though I did enjoy riding the horses. Bowling was sort of a disaster. For some reason my opponents would just freak when I'd get a strike, even though I thought I'd knocked all the little castles and horses and pawns completely off the board fair and square. I thought sports just weren't for me until I ran into geocaching! Now this is a whole 'nother ball game!

I guess you could bushwhack to this one... but there's a truly excellent and fairly level hike to be had by going to the waypoint listed for where an abandoned road leaves the regular trail. Park at the fire tower, and PLAY BALL!

You're looking for a camo painted ammo can with some nice goodies (sports related) in it. The cache is NOT at the posted coordinates! You could go stand there, but you'll get pretty wet (unless the pond is frozen!) The actual cache is around 123 feet from ground zero, on a course of 250 degrees true. Please note the hint if you get frustrated! And good luck. Hope you have better luck finding this than I did as an athlete!
