Geocache Description:

One of a series of caches,that takes you to the four compass points of Ayrshire and a centre point. The Central location has a cache box that was handed to GCAyrshire at the Mega Scotland event for the highland games tug o war, which we won without pulling a rope, the only other team did not show. The other caches in this series are:

This cache is placed out beside the Ayrshire Coastal Path. The Ayrshire Coastal Path from Glenapp to Skelmorlie runs 100 miles along one of the finest panoramic coastlines in the British Isles. Crowned with a superb backdrop of the ever-changing profile of the mountains of Arran across the Firth of Clyde, this coastline is steeped in history and teeming with wildlife. Although this cache is not far from the Hunterston power station, this part of the coastal path is very accessable. Car parking can be found at the old entrance to the hunterston marine construction site, just off the roundabout off the A78 at N55 43.695 W004 51.989. During the early autumn months the Blackberrries are in abundance here and lots of muggles and children can be seen walking this area with buckets full of these berries.so stealth would be required. Follow the tarmac road down from Ayrshire coastal path sign and you will come to the mudflats that are full of wading birds and other types of wildfowl. Deer are sometimes spotted in the woods. As for the cache: the cache is on the coastal path, and is protected by the cache 'SPRITE'. all will become apparent when located. PLEASE REPLACE EXACTLY AS FOUND WITH THE CAMO. THANKS.
