Jackson County and Douglas County change ownership on top of this pass on Hwy 227. Now, the sign placement differs from our GPS and topo map by about 800', so we think this is a gray area between the counties!
It is also the beginning/end for the BLM administration as well. They have a very large sign touting this announcement.
There is a large parking area across the road from the cache. You are looking for a small plastic cylinder container about 3" X 8" with some trade items and a log book. It is well hidden and you may have to blindly poke around with your hand. This is snake country, but no snake will be where you hand goes.
Elevation at this pass is 3316' so the cache may not be accessible if the snow is over 3' deep.
