How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

You are looking for an ammo can in the wooded area behind the Kimmell Park campground area. Use the waypoint for parking.

Terrain: There is a light trail that will take you near the cache. It is nearby the RV grounds. Another entrance is the large open area closer to the river and you can stick to the tree line. The area is flat, with some debris and trees to walk over. This is a flood zone, so DON'T go there if the river is up. When it goes down, there may be standing water. When this cache was placed, it was bone-dry.

Do not cache in the woods alone, and do not access this cache at night, as being in Kimmell Park at night is illegal.

Keep the cache tethered. This is to save it in the event of a freak flood.

Update on 4/3/11: Upped the terrain to a 3 because of how muddy the conditions were from flooding. We were able to access the cache without wading. Added the "dangerous animals" attributes at the suggestion of another cacher that there *could* be snakes since this is a flood area. None have been spotted. This is STURDY can that has stayed dry after being completely submerged. :)
