Église Saint-Pierre à Lamotte-Warfusée
L'église Saint-Pierre a été construite entre 1929 et 1931 par
l'architecte parisien Godefroy Teisseire (1874-1938) qui édifia une
dizaine d'églises dans la Somme dont celle de Chaulnes.
Elle illustre très bien les recherches techniques de l'architecture
de l'entre-deux-guerres avec sa flèche en béton armé ajourée.
Sa structure est elle aussi en béton armé et est revêtue de briques
avec des pignons à redents dans la tradition picarde.
La décoration intérieure a été réalisée dans des tons bruns et ocre
par le "fresquiste" italien Dominique Aldighieri.
Les vitraux sont de Jacques Gruber, peintre-verrier qui travailla
pour Daum et les architectes de l’Ecole de Nancy. Il
contribua fortement à renouveler l’art du vitrail civil dans
les années 1894-1914 et l’art du vitrail religieux après
1918.
La cache :
Il s'agit d'une small grise estampillée "Geocaching" avec un
couvercle vert.
Elle contient initialement quelques babioles, le logbook et un
crayon.

The Church of St. Pierre was built between 1929 and 1931 by the
Parisian architect Teisseire Godefroy (1874-1938) who built a dozen
churches in the Somme, including that of Chaulnes.
It illustrates very well the technical research of the architecture
of the inter-wars with its reinforced concrete openwork.
Its structure is also reinforced concrete and is covered with brick
gables in the tradition of Picardy.
The interior decoration was done in shades of brown and tan by the
"fresco" Italian Dominique Aldighieri.
The stained glass windows are by Jacques Gruber, glass painter who
worked for Daum and architects of the Ecole de Nancy. He
contributed greatly to renew the civil art of stained glass in the
years 1894-1914 and the religious art of stained glass after
1918.
The Cache:
This is a gray "small" stamped "Geocaching" with a green cap.
It initially contains a few trinkets, the logbook and a
pencil.
