Vichy a un club d'aviron depuis 1892. Le "Club d'Aviron de Vichy"
est né de la fusion de deux clubs en 1967 afin d'organiser les
championnats européens d'aviron de la même année. L'Aviron est un
sport de glisse pratiqué en compétition mais aussi en loisir.
l'aviron est une activité de plein air. Considéré comme sport
complet, l'aviron mobilise l'ensemble des groupes musculaires et
exige une bonne coordination gestuelle.L'objectif poursuivi par le
rameur est de se déplacer sur l'eau au moyen d'un bateau et
d'avirons. Pour y arriver, le rameur doit en permanence propulser,
équilibrer, diriger son embarcation et coordonner l'ensemble «
rameur – bateau – avirons ».

There are two rowing clubs in the city of Vichy since 1892. The
merging of two ancient rowing clubs in 1967 led to the creation of
the "Club d'Aviron de Vichy" in order to organise the european
rowing championship the same year. Rowing is a sport in which
athletes race against each other on rivers, on lakes or on the
ocean, depending upon the type of race and the discipline. The
boats are propelled by the reaction forces on the oarblades as they
are pushed against the water. The sport can be both recreational,
focusing on learning the techniques required[1], and competitive
where overallfitness plays a large role. It is also one of the
oldest Olympic sports.
