Undercover cache # 2 (Waikato) Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

cashkids: Nearly gave up on the thicket bashing to retrieve this!

Archived all caches around Ngaroto..To be fair 70% are very hard to find due to changes in the area with windfalls, clearing and weeds taking over to the point where you cant safely see where you are stepping.
Thank you to all the finders happy and frustrated.

Geocache Description:

Cache is not at the Posted coordinates, but placed strategically nearby....

Fact: Did you know that ducks and swans are actually in the same family, Anatidae? So maybe, the "ugly duckling" was a duckling, after all!

Fact: Ever hear the saying, "like water off a duck's back"? Actually, the gland that secretes the substance that coats their feathers to make them waterproof, really is on their back -- the tail end, that is.

Fact: A popular urban legend concerning ducks is, "a duck's quack doesn't echo." This is not true, and a team from the University of Salford proved it.

Fact: Mallard ducks commonly live from one to two years, though some have been known to live up to sixteen!

Fact: Ducks have no blood vessels or nerves in their feet, so they can't feel cold even in frigid water.

Fact: The mallard is probably one of the most recognizable of all ducks, and comes from the subfamily of dabbling ducks. The rich green sheen and bright yellow beak of the male is in sharp contrast to its drab female counterpart, with her orange beak and brown plumage.

Fact: Male ducks are called "drakes," and females are called "hens."

Fact: Dabbling ducks tip themselves face first into the water, (so you see their bottoms pointing into the air), and filter water through their beaks to harvest food from beneath the surface. This is called "dabbling."
