Geocache Description:

This geocache is near the end of Old Sackettsford Road. I took a look at some old maps and it appears that at one time this little known road forded Neshaminy Creek by the railroad bridge instead of ending where it does now. If it would cross the stream it would join the current Sackettsford Road at a right angle. At one time, across the stream, Sackettsford Rd. only went up the hill. The section going downhill to Rushland Rd. was built more recently, bypassing the old section of road that this cache is located at and making the 'ford' unnecessary. (Edit, 4/1/12: Wakkanne told me about the following site that shows old aerial views: http://www.historicaerials.com/ When I plug this cache's coordinates into the site and pick 1971 or before, it shows what appears to be a bridge, not a ford across the stream. I've looked at the area and can't find any remains of a bridge. Usually there's some stonework or some structural evidence left. Could it have been a wooden bridge? A mystery!)

This cache was originally an ammo can but after replacing it several times I decided to downsize quite a bit.

Congrats to Odyssey X for First to Find!
