Geocache Description:

For those of you who are real new to caching, you probably haven't met Sam yet. He can flat out tell some amazing cache tales and he's a real character! If I ever get to be half as good as Sam is at cachin' I'll be in a real real good spot. This one is in his honor. Your cache friends love and respect you, buddy.

I have talked to so many cachers that have said that Sam has helped them when they were starting out. I remember Sam telling me about getting a walking stick for poking around in holes. He told me what kind to get, where to get it and how much to pay. He also said to make sure I had some extra batteries. He has always been willing to "shoot new coords" when my caches have people wandering off into La La Land. He is the one at the event who is a little larger than life. Everyone wants to be Sam's "friend" (as in PAF) because, folks, basically he's found them ALL. At close to 14,000 he's pretty much not just on the front page of rankings, but he could just about write the front page!!! He is always willing to help teach others about his sport and to spin a yarn about his adventures. (And let me tell ya, there are some!) He caches as much as he can with his sweetheart, Barbara. I'm sure you have seen their sticker on a nearby or far-away cache log! Have fun hunting this one, and Sam, we love your story, but please please, get to the point!!!
