(Lombardy Poplar)
This cache is the twelfth in a series of caches with the theme of “Trees.” Each of these caches is placed near a different species of tree common to the Grants, New Mexico area.
This medium-sized tree was introduced from Europe and western Asia, and now grows throughout the United States. This poplar is fast growing, but short lived and often reaches 60 feet before succumbing to European canker disease. The trunk can be up to three feet in diameter with limbs that appear to grow straight up. This tree is often planted in rows as a windbreak.
The cache is a 3 pound coffee can painted in camo colors.
Log book, pencil, bouncy ball, Halloween finger puppet and other small trade items. FTF gets a path tag.
The cache is not located at the above coordinates, but rather 60 feet north at coordinates: N35 10.241 W107 49.006.
