This hacienda has a history that is over 100 years old. Its actual size is 2,650 hectares, equivalent to 6,550 acres.
This is a beautiful animal refuge focused mainly on tilapia farming, cattle ranching, conventional rice and certified organic rice, a large scale ecotourism projects such as lodging, hiking, climbing, horse-back riding, canopying-zip lines, aerial tram, flora/fauna/bird watching, volcano visiting, hanging bridges, bungee jumping, water rafting, fishing, etc. Also, because of its proximity to the Guanacaste, Nicoya and Central Pacific coasts, it can also cater to visitors interested in day-trips to the beach for sun and swimming.
