Sagån är en av Västmanlands vattendrag som hade stor betydelse innan dagens vägar, järnvägar och kraftverk fanns. Sagån #1-#15 är en serie geocacher i anslutning till åns sträckning.
Sagån is one of the waterways in Västmanland that were important before today's roads, railways and power plants exsisted. Sagån # 1 - # 15 is a series of geocaches in connection with the river's route.
Hyttan, Sagån # 2
Här vid silverhyttan låg dammen som dämde upp Sagån. Under åren 1899 till 1905 omreglerades sjön Hallaren och de stora vattenmagasinen tömdes. Då fanns tillgång till ångmaskiner för att driva Hyttan och de stora åkerarealer som lagts under vatten behövdes bättre för att producera mat. Då öppnades åter sjön Hallarens utlopp till Dalälven och vattenföringen i Sagån återgick till vad den varit före 1630, ungefär en halvering av flödet. I höjden ovanför åravinen har hittats lämningar av stenåldersboplats.
Here was the silver smeltery dam which dammed up Sagån. During the years 1899 to 1905 the major water reservoirs were emptied. In the height above the stream the remains of Stone Age settlement are found.
