Situated in a woodland area North of Melton, the GILGAI nature conservation reserve is an example of the rare and endangered grassy woodland that once covered large areas of the Melton Shire.
The cooperation of the community is required to maintain and improve the natural values of this site.
The collection of firewood is strictly forbidden, as the fallen wood is important habitat for native animals.
A plan has been developed to maintain this reserve so as to protect and improve the values that exist.
I encourage everyone to practice cache in trash out at this cache, and as the title suggests, make sure you bring your bug repellant.
Remember, Grassy Woodlands = mosquitoes.
