Social media - it's changing how we interact and how we use the internet, and despite loving it, it's easy to feel like a network neanderthal. Sadly, it seems that as soon as we become attached to one website, it becomes the yesterday's news. Notable busts include Pet.com - which, although it wasn't social media, it had a very social sock puppet!

Surely, there are many internet businesses and web sites that managed to pull through the dot.com bust and are still active today. Speculation continues, however, that another dot.com bust - one that includes social media - is on the horizon. Nevertheless, whatever happens, we'll never forget Pet.com's sock puppet!
