Closer to the lower trailhead than upper, but would be all downhill from upper.
This is the spot I was going to turn and explore to see if it was possible to get over to Sunrise Highway near Old Highway 80. But, as my caching partner was at about 10% energy left, thought it might be best to save this for another day.
If you look across the creek bed you can see the faint trail going up into the valley and in the direction I wanted to take. It was only about 1.25 miles to one of the caches i wanted to connect up with, but from here it looked all uphill. It may be just as easy to start from the old road near persieds point and just walk down to here and back up.
Cache is off the trail by about 75', but the hiding spot should be easy to recognize from the trail. It gives a pretty good view along both directions of the creek and overlooks the creekbed from about 50' up.
Cache container is a small ammo can with one of my personal regular edition Gold/Antique finish coins for the FTF.
As always this is snake country and this place looks to be an especially good snake haven. So please look before you leap.
