Cache is at the Sheep Hole Oasis in the Mecca Hills east of Mecca.
A few waypoints along the way that may be useful:
Exit from Box Canyon Road: N33°35.371', W115°55.754'
Parking at Trailhead: N33°35.263', W115°55.747'
Trail to turn down to Sheep Hole Oasis: N33°35.062', W115°55.473'
If you miss that turn, you can go all the way down the ridge line trail to the wash, and at the bottom, turn left back up the wash. You can also make a nice loop out of it, or continue on to our other caches, and the famous Grotto.
The cache is a bit uphill behind the old mine shaft and palms. You're looking for a standard Ammo Can, well stocked with goodies.
If you need detailed directions from the I-10 Freeway (a good idea if you are not familiar with the area), see one of our other caches in the area, like 'Cave-aphobic Cache' GCFA2B.
P.S. Anyone else wonder how this little oasis got it's name? Hmmm...?
