Lost Valley of Beecraigs Traditional Cache
hobgoblinkiteflier: I found the remains of the container close to where the cache was originally hidden, and the lid was on the other side of the v valley. Time to let this one go. The Lost Valley is visited much more frequently and my ammo can was stolen a while ago.

The cache is hidden in a less popular part of Beecraigs Country Park. It is a pleasant walk from the Balvormie car park on good paths and tracks up until the last 30-40metres where it could be muddy.
In the south west corner of the park, this would be a good place to reach by mountain bike. It is also a good walk, with some views of the top of Cockleroy as you approach the cache. Just three miles south of historic Linlithgow and nestled high in the scenic Bathgate Hills, West Lothian Council caters for a wide range of leisure and recreational interests within its 370 hectare (913 acre) Country Park. So many things to experience throughout the year – walks through the winter landscape, majestic stags at rut – relaxing fly-fishing on the Loch or instruction in archery, rock climbing, orienteering and canoeing. It is well worth stopping off at the Visitor Centre where advice, information, gifts, venison sales and refreshments are available. Admission is free and the Park is open throughout the year.
