Gold Doubloons Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

sandlanders: Due to the logging in this area, the Pirates have left for other shores. They took their treasure with them, so there are no gold doubloons remaining at the Roche-A-Cri.

We talked to the DNR today, and since this area will be significantly changed by the upcoming logging, we are archiving this cache now. If a new one is placed at some future time, it will be different enough to warrant a new listing. Thank you to everyone who came in search of the gold here!

Geocache Description:

For this two-part multicache, the first container is a camoed pill bottle containing the coordinates to the second container, a camoed peanut butter jar. Thank you to Mister Greenthumb and Sunshine for the gift of the two containers.

The Pirates of the Roche-A-Cri have hidden some of their treasure on the public land of the Big Roche-A-Cri Fishery Area. They can't tell you directly where it is hidden, so you will have to use their clue to find the jar of gold doubloons. Once you have the clue, you will know where you need to look.

This is NOT buried treasure. It is hidden where you will be able to find it at any time of the year, although the journey may take longer when the central sands are covered by a layer of white. While you are here, take some time to explore the Big Roche-A-Cri, a Class I trout stream from its headwaters to County W west of this spot. A trail will take you to the shores of the waterway, about two tenths of a mile from the parking area.
