Geocache Description:

This puzzle cache series is in tribute to Kenny, a member of our Venturing Crew who passed on much too soon. Although Kenny didn't have much experience geocaching, he really loved it a lot, so we set up this series of caches for him. We hope you enjoy them.

A Tribute to Kenny
There once was a Scout named Kenny
Who explored o’er hill and valley
With scouting spirit in his heart
He was always eager to start
Another merit badge or fun activity

There once was a jokester named Kenny
Who loved riddles and jokes aplenty
He’d chuckle and grin
As you scratched your chin
‘Cause your wits just came up empty

There once was a tycoon named Kenny
Who delighted in the game of Monopoly
He’d exert his game might
And yet be oh so polite
As he collected the last of your money

There once was a scout named Kenny
Who was dearly loved by many
We're sad to see him go
But it’s comforting to know
He’s on the grandest adventure of any!

Since Kenny was an avid scouter, was very fond of jokes and riddles, and loved the game of Monopoly, this cache series incorporates each of these themes.

The cache is NOT located at the posted coordinates (which mark the parking area). To find the cache, you must gather clues from the other two 'Tribute to Kenny' caches: Tribute to Kenny - Park Place and Tribute to Kenny - Boardwalk. Each of these two caches will give you half of the coordinates you need for the final. If you tackle this cache series in October - May, little if any bush-whacking is needed to get to each stage. If you go during the height of Spring or Summer, you may find yourself wading through dense prairie grass to get to the final in the series, so wear long pants and long sleeves when you do that stage.

The final for this cache has been stocked with items related to the themes of scouting, jokes, riddles, and Monopoly. PLEASE try to place items with these themes into the cache; remember, this is a tribute cache, so we'd like to try to keep it from becoming nothing more than a collection of fun-meal toys.

For scouters (or anyone) looking for an extra challenge, feel free to check out another scout-related cache in the preserve: Knot in a Tree.

Restrooms are available and dogs are welcome - they even provide bags to clean up at the trail heads. Bring Fido and enjoy a beautiful walk. The park closes at sunset, and the local safety officials use the sunset time posted in the local newspaper. Please don't attempt any of the caches at night, and be forewarned that if you are parked much later than sunset in the lot you risk a ticket.
