Geocache Description:

The cache is placed near the place where old Ise Electric Railway crossed Kumozu River.

In 1911 Ise Railway Company was founded and railways were build in order to connect villages on the coast in Mie prefecture. In 1926, these railroads were electrified and the company changed its name “Ise Electric Railway”. The main line connected Kuwana and Ise Jingu Shrine which became Kintetsu Ise Line and a part of Naogya Line later. After Ise line was ruined in 1961, most of its trace was converted into road which is called “Kintetsu Road” which is truncated near the cache point. Tracks were moved away, however the piers of the railway’s bridge is now used for those of aquaduct, and the raised ground for crossing over the river bank is also remains.

キャッシュはかつて伊勢電気鉄道の通っていた場所にあります。1911年、伊勢電気鉄道の前身となる伊勢鉄道が開業、三重県の沿岸部にある集落を結ぶ鉄道が建設されました。1926年に電化され、伊勢電気鉄道と改称されました。キャッシュ付近には桑名と伊勢神宮を結んでいた本線が通っていましたが、後に近鉄伊勢線となり、1961年には廃されました。跡地は大部分が道路に転用され、「近鉄道路」と呼ばれていますが、この部分では途切れています。線路などは撤去されていますが、橋脚は水道橋のために転用され、また堤防を越えるための盛土が残っています。
