Geocache Description:

Ein Lavan is a steady spring in the Nahal Refaim National Park in Jerusalem. The spring flows year-round, out of a cave with an arched stone entrance, with Persian Cyclamens (Rakefet in Hebrew) growing over the entrance. Bring flashlights and step into the darkness and knee-high water!

The water flows into a large, deep pool which is used for swimming, if you don't mind sharing it with numerous small frogs and a few goldfish someone has brought here. The entire area is excellent for picnics, and since it is often used for just that purpose, this is a good cache to practice your cache-in-trash-out.

To get to Ein Lavan, drive through the parking lot of the biblical zoo and continue on the dirt road for another few kilometers. The road widens and forms an unpaved parking lot, with a well marked trail climbing up many stone stairs to the pools and spring.

The cache itself is one level above the main picnic area, as to avoid muggle traffic. It is a Tupperware-type container with a logbook, pen and a few trinkets.
