Geocache Description:

Should be a quick find at one of Marion's highest points with lots of goodies for the younger geocachers as well as some interesting items for the older folks. No need to go near any man made structures.

(If you take something, please replace with something else!)

We all take our supply of abundant, clean water for granted. Take this opportunity to learn some the facts of our dependable water supply. For example, built in 1992, the nearby tower holds one million gallons of water and is just one of three similar towers in Marion which service the community through 167 miles of water mains. All three towers are set at the same water overflow elevation which is 974.4 feet above sea level. Water is supplied by six deep wells, four pumping stations, and four ground storage tanks with a total capacity of 2,200,000 gallons. The average daily water pumpage is 3,000,000 gallons.

Geocache placed with the permission of the Marion Water Department. Enjoy the the view.
