Whirlpool Angler launch
This is a favorite fishing spot and boat launch located on the Ausable river.
Note: Signs do state that to park, you need a Michigan permit.
They also have the $5 envelopes there for day use.

BTW, you do not have to pay the parking fee if you turn left at the first trail (4580)and park. Actually, it is closer than the other way, but no river view. You DO have to walk a hill but it is not tall, just be cautious.
This is a great place to stop and check out the river, drop in a boat, fish or start a hike. They even have a small boardwalk that is wheelchair friendly.
GZ is about 500ft from ample parking.
Take the boardwalk along the river and then cut in or there is a trail head right next to the handicapped parking thats more direct. Either way it's an easy walk.
Cache is a small lock n lock that should be easy to find.
