This highway sign is to commemorate, Firebaugh Police Officer, Sixto Maldonado. On Tuesday, August 19, 1975, Officer Maldonado was shot and murdered while working the front counter at the Firebaugh Police Department. The suspect committed suicide a short time later in a nearby alley. No motive was discovered for this tragic act.
Log only, BYOP. There is parking on Hwy 33, but be careful, the cars drive very fast on this road.
