Geocache Description:

Small lock and lock container with log book and self inking passport stamp. Please be respectful of the church and its property and do not cache during services.

This is part of a tour around Athens to see some historic churches. Tanner UMC was established prior to the war between the states and was used as a hospital during that conflict. The church burned in 1968 and was rebuilt in its present location in 1968. Go to (visit link) and down load your passport. After all the churches have been found and your passport is full take it to the Visitors bureau at 100 Beaty Street give them your passport and receive a souvenir of the area. Passports should be available Friday 12/10/10
