Geocache Description:

When a spartan boy turned twelve and reached his fifth year of training to become the ultimate warrior, he was cast out into the wilderness with nothing but the clothes on his back. Here he would have to live for one year amid the feral beasts, trekking over dangerous terrain, finding food and shelter and honing his survival instincts.

This is your chance to go on a night time Spartan vision quest--meet up with "the warrior spirit" at the posted coords and follow it to the GZ assault, where you will face the ultimate Spartan challenge.

Although the cache was hidden in the true Spartan fashion (with nothing but the clothes on my back!), many will find it easier and some may find it necessary to use special equipment. Keep in mind that this is a challenging hide and is not for everyone--please know your limits and do not cache beyond your abilities.

This is a night cache, so come prepared! I'd suggest beginning the hike to the posted coords around dusk for a gorgeous view of Lake Hopatcong on your way up.

I parked on the obvious pulloff on 181. During the beginning of the hike, be sure to respect all signage and do not cross over the fence into the quarry area. Remember that you need to sign the logbook to consider this a find--if you attempt the cache but are unable to reach the logbook please feel free to leave a note about your journey!

Be safe, come prepared (or return later if necessary), and enjoy (endure ;-)) your Spartan Night Quest!
