dwsjw01: Just can't be bothered to keep this one up. Many could not find the Mahabandoola Cache, I allowed photoblogs, but now I'm informed it's not the "done" thing. So I disable all Burma and China caches and be done with it.

Another roadside attraction in Nanjing, this one along the eastern shore of YueYa lake, in the city's Baixia district.
This has been replaced with a magnetic (hint) nan0-cache container, so bring your own pencil.
In 1931, Charles and Anne Lindbergh landed their Lockheed Sirius floatplane on YueYa lake, after pioneering what we now know as the polar route.
Beginning in New York, the couple hopped across norther Canada, the top of Alaska, and down along the Aleutians to Japan. After a short stay, they flew from Tokyo to Nanjing, landing at the spot where this cache is located.
Anne Lindbergh, incidentally, was an alumnus of Smith College, Nanjing Normal University's sister school, although in 1931 it was called Jinling Girls' College.
As their stay in Nanjing coincided with the great flood that year which killed millions in the Jiangsu Valley, the Lindbergh's support the relief effort by using their plane to survey flood damage and deliver medicines.
Later in their trip, unfortunately, their Lockheed Sirius was damaged beyond repair during an attempt to hoist it aboard a British aircraft carrier at Hankou (Wuhan).
