The Flaming Palm Tree Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Nomex: Hi
As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm temporarily archiving this to keep it from continually showing up in search lists. Just contact us when you have the cache repaired, [RED]and assuming it still meets the guidelines[/RED], we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Don't hesitate to email me via the link on my Profile if you have any questions. [red]Please be sure to include the cache name and GC Code, or better yet, the URL of the cache page.[/red]

Thanks for your cooperation!

Geocache Description:

This is a very easy find. It is located right next to a road. No need to wander off into the muddy ditch.

If you are pulling off in Woodland for some fast food there are several places just down the road on East Main for lunch. This can be a quick grab on your way out.

The reason for the title is, many years ago when I was with the fire department, we responded to a 75 foot palm tree on fire on this street. You would question how do you set a 75 foot palm tree on fire? Apparently, in this case, the trunk of the palm tree had little hairs on it all the way up the trunk. The owner just fired up his BBQ next to the tree, which caught one of the little hairs on fire and up it went. It looked like a giant torch when we arrived.

This is my first cache. So I thought I would make it nice and easy.

The traffic on this road is extremely light. There is a place to park right next to the cache. Keep an eye on the kids anyway. Always be safe.

This is a micro so bring your own pencil.

Update: July 2014. Since the last time I checked on this cache the City has replaced the guardrail. They were also nice enough to replace the cache. Great. 104 Geocachers have found this little cache.

I left a little treat for the next cacher. I am working on replacing the log.
