No.6 - A complete change of scene now as the
route heads up into Cringlebarrow Wood. From the Pinfold
follow the footpath up the limestone path and onto a track.
Straight ahead through some plantation, then a gate into the lovely
woods. A main track runs straight ahead with a large
limestone crag in the trees to the right. According to the
map the area along here is called Fairy Wells, but we're not sure
why. Perhaps springs appear at times. An interesting
mix of trees, rocks and moss. Cache is off to the E of the
path in an area of small limestone outcrops. Take care where
you're walking as it's rough terrain.
Cache is a small L&L. It lies about 8m from an
unusual, upright, odd-shaped rock. GPS reception may be
tricky under the trees but there are thinner bits.
