With deep appreciation, this cache is dedicated to honoring the protection of California State Park habitats.
I wanted to place a cache for those who want to honor State Park rules to not go off the trails due to the protected habitat status of the State Parklands. I take this very seriously so am often disappointed that I can't go find so many caches unless I break my own principles and violate the rules. Here's a cache you can enjoy with a clear conscious!
Wildlife has so little area that is protected for them (and for saving the ecosystems on which they depend) that I wish that everyone would honor the rules when in the State Parks. Like it or not we do make an impact on this protected habitat when we go off the trails.
Let's all help to protect the park lands not only for future generations to enjoy, but for the benefits that intact habitats give us now - like watersheds, climate control and carbon sequestration.
The cache is located at what I consider to be the best view in Annadel. It is a lock & lock. You will NOT have to go far off the trail to find it. Contains logbook, pen and a fun variety of State Park and environmental trinkets. Please take care to replace as found as this cache has already been muggled once.
After dadfish's experience I figure I'd better make a special point to warn about the possibility of rattlesnakes!!!
