The Texas state championship 5A Division 1 game was played in
front of more than 43,000 people against Euless Trinity on December
18 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington and the Pearland Oilers were
victorious. In beating Trinity 28-24, the undefeated Oilers became
Texas State Champs! This was the first time Pearland won the high
school football crown.

"dead man" play in which quarterback Trey Anderson threw a 54 yard
touchdoown pass to receiver Sam Ukwuachu. Senior running back
Dustin Garrison was named the boys athlete of the week by the
Houston Chronicle for his performance in the game as well as
offensive MVP at the game.
