Geocache Description:

Tamagawa-Jyousui Station of Seibu-Line & Tama City Monorail.

After a long citizens movement, the United States Armed Forces Yamato Air Station was returned to the Japanese Government in 1973.
There is the monument of US Yamato Air Station in the rotary.

This station rotary is nice & neat.
Please be careful for the cars. Please bring a pen.

玉川上水駅
多摩川上流の羽村取水堰から、新宿区の四谷大木戸まで約43km続く玉川上水が駅名の由来。
玉川上水は駅の南側を東西に流れています。
モノレールの駅は東大和市の最南部ですが、自由通路でつながった西武拝島線の玉川上水駅は立川市にあたります。

長い市民運動の末、1973年に米軍大和基地は日本政府に変換されました。
玉川上水の駅前広場を整備した時に、この周辺がアメリカ軍大和基地の正門だった事を残す為の記念碑がロータリー内にあります。

綺麗に整備された駅前ロータリー。車には充分に気をつけて下さい！
