Before Rysten's first book was published, we went up this road to
try and take some desert-themed author pictures. The sandy road
just about bogged us down. The weeds were all in seed, so we ended
up covered with little stickers. We took our dog, and he ended up
covered as well, too much to brush out. We valiantly took pictures
with Joshua trees, desert, and rocks for backgrounds until we were
baked, sunburned, and frustrated. Then we didn't end up using the
pictures anyway. So, here is a cache to commemorate our failed foto
spot. NOTE: This is rattlesnake country, so always be careful and
poke under and into things with a stick before reaching a hand. The
road in can be very sandy, but you should be OK if you are careful
not to drive off into any obvious sand pits.
