Geocache Description:

This area was a favourite walk for romantic Carrickfergus folk, but this once beautiful lane has since been almost obliterated by poor council planning. The walk divided off to either down into the town or up towards Sullatober where there was a bleach works fed by the water running under the bridge on Lovers Lane. The stone pillars, gates and gate lodge at the end of the lane were once the entrance to Glynn Park House, built around 1800 by James Craig.

Lovers Lane cache is a very well disguised cache with only a log to sign. Log is located at chest level and right in front of you, no need to feel around too much, just use your eyes and replace in exactly the same spot please. There are seats up and down the lane if you wish to sit down and sign the log, just please remember exactly where you found it before walking away, it would be easy to forget the hiding spot! It looks very natural! Be careful there may be some thorns but it’s a challenging cache.

You are not completely out of view from muggles so watch out, weekends are quieter as lots of school age muggles take a short cut through here at home time. Plenty of dog walking muggles about this area too.

This cache may be suitable for wheelchair users the path is level and possible to reach it by car, however the cache is at chest level and will require some reaching.

Please return to exactly the same spot or it will get lost!!
