Geocache Description:

The lone grave and final resting place of Oregon pioneer Fredrick H. Ramsey.

Ramsey came to the Portland area in 1844 at age 19 and took a 282 acre land claim in what is now N. St. John's. He eventually sold most of his claim to the Gatton family, who deeded back this small bit of land for his grave site.

To learn more about Fred Ramsey, check out the amazing info in the link above.

Be forwarned that there may be transient persons living or sleeping in this neglected cemetery, as its care seems to have been abandoned by Multnomah county.

Unfortunately, there is NO good place to park nearby. You can try the grassy area on the east side of N Burgard road just before it meets the T with Columbia Blvd, and then walk across the street at the stop light, or ask permission from one of the local businesses on the cemetery side of the road.

NB, as of 10/20/13 the cache is now a decon container.
