Geocache Description:

A small camo'd match holder. (you know the type)

Once upon a time, the intersection of 90th and West Center Road was a very busy commercial area. As you can see this area has become somewhat of a ghost town.

On the Northwest corner was an Amoco station. Just to the North was the first Burger King in Omaha. I remember when it opened in the late 60's you could get a hamburger, fries, and a small shake for $0.52. Next to the Burger King was a DX station. To the West was the first Putt Putt mini golf in the city. In between was a House of Pies.

On the Northeast corner was a Mobil gas station. In Loveland Plaza was a Shavers grocery store, Thull's Drug, and a Hesteads variety store. The barber shop is still there. There was a time when the only store open on Sunday was the pharmacy at Thull's.

On the Southeast corner was a Skelly gas station. South of that was a Dairy Queen. Next to the DQ was a Shakey's Pizza Parlour.

On the Southwest corner was a Sinclair filling station. Not to many other businesses were on that corner after the donut shop fell into the Papio Creek after a heavy rain.

On a friday or saturday night in the 70's there would be hundreds of high school kids hanging around, showing off and wasting time...now its just a waste.

If you have any memories of this area please feel free to share them when you log this cache. Good hunting!

Update: Loveland Plaza has been demolished. Senior Matias is gone!! (sigh)
