Geocache Description:

Cache is a white plastic box containing an assortment of small toys hidden not far from the parish church. Should be a fairly quick find.

Oxenhall is a rural parish near Newent in Gloucestershire. It is home to a Daffodil Weekend held every spring, when walks are organised to see the stunning displays of the wild flower and light lunches and country teas are served in the parish hall. In the autumn, the Oxenhall Apple Day offers delights and tasty food, all around the theme of the apple.

The old Herefordshire & Gloucestershire Canal, currently being restored, runs through the parish. The footpath beside it makes for a lovely walk at any time of the year: you can see the reconstructed Oxenhall Lock and a variety of wild waterfowl.

St. Anne’s Church sits in an elevated position giving lovely views of the surrounding area. The tower dates from the 14th century, although the rest of the original Norman church was completely rebuilt in the 19th century.

There is parking space for one or two cars on the grass triangle between the church and parish hall. Otherwise you should find some spots at the side of the lane towards the canal footpath at: N051°56.339' W002°25.144'

Although this is a country lane, it does get quite a few cars passing along it, so be careful.
