Geocache Description:

On May 11th, 1970 a very severe tornado left more than 20 Lubbockites dead, about 1,000 hospitalized and did more than $135 million in damage. This cache location is in memory of those that lost their lives.

This is a nice little place to stop and rest on a warm day. There is plenty of parking within feet of the cache. The entire memorial area is wheelchair accessible but the last few feet of the caching journey is not. Despite having plenty of room for kids to walk and play use caution with Ave Q only feet away. The cache it self is a 3'' x 5'' plastic locking container, camo'd to fit its surroundings. Cachers please replace cache exactly where it is found, unless you find it on the ground, in which case you may relocate it higher. To keep grounds keeper like muggles away from this one please make sure you dont leave the cache on ground level.

Started cache with 2 Travel Bugs
