Located near the Whirinaki falls at the top of the Waterfall
Loop Track which is about a 4 hour walk on good track and mostly
level terain. The walk takes you through a mature podocarp forest
and is a pleasant days outing from Rotorua or Taupo.
About 15 minutes into the walk you come to a signpost and
shortly after a bridge across the river. The loop goes up one side
of the Whirinaki river and comes back down the other side. Take the
right hand branch at the signpost for the normal anti clockwise
walk.

Take SH38 off SH5 near Rainbow mountain through Murupara. About
20km from Murupara there is a well signposted turnoff to Minginui.
Proceed down this road till you reach River road and take River
road to the trail head carpark.
GPS accuracy may be a bit off due to the tree cover, so please
use the hint to void damaging the ground cover.
