This cache is located at the Old American Military McDonalds, which was closed down when the Americans shut down their base in Bermuda.
For many years McDonalds operated on a U.S. Military Base on the island of Bermuda. When the U.S. troops moved out in September of 1995, McDonalds wanted to open a more general operation on the island. However, local residents and the government decided to contest McDonalds right to set up a restaurant. As a result there was a long drawn-out battle. Finally ibn 1996, the islands Government passed an Act of Parliament (the prohibited Restaurant Act) , preventing McDonald's or any other fast food restaurant from establishing itself on the island. McDonald's appealed to the British Privy council in London. However the appeal was rejected in 1999.(Jefferson News Tribune, 1999)
