Geocache Description:

10 years of Geocaching on Long Island!

Come to Blydenburgh Park to celebrate and commemorate the 2/13/01 placing of the Weary Traveler Geocache. That’s the cache that started it all here on Long Island, and now, 10 years later, there are thousands of caches scattered around Nassau and Suffolk counties!

Come join the Long Island Geocaching community for food, fun, and games as we wish a Happy 10th Birthday to The Weary Traveler!

There will also be some games/contests such as "Getting-to-Know-You Bingo", "Find The Evil Micro", and whatever else we can think of.

Speaking of games and contests, if anyone would like to donate items for prizes, that would be greatly appreciated! And they don’t have to be Geocaching related (although Geocaching stuff is perfectly fine); items such as lightly used books, games, toys, cd’s, dvd’s, or ANYTHING at all would be great!

If you would like to contribute to the food, or have anything you would like to donate as a prize, please click on this link
which will take you to a sign-up sheet created by Kalliope176 (thanks Liz!). There you can see what's still needed and indicate exactly what you're bringing.

Event Timeline:
11:00am – Event Start
12:00pm – 1:30pm – Potluck and BBQ Lunch (please volunteer to bring something!)
3:00pm – Group Photo and Happy Birthday Sing-a-long!!
3:20pm - Contest winners announced.

Put this on your watchlist and keep checking back for updates to the cache page.

Hope to see you all there!
