luvvinbird: When I first placed this cache five years ago, this hidden pathway was like a slice of countryside in an urban environment. A split rail fence on one side and glorious, majestic trees on the other created a serene and scenic climb to the beautiful church above. The last few months have changed all of that. The city's arborists have more knowledge about those trees than just their beauty and have cut down a lot of them. An enormous tree not 15 feet from GZ gave the area a feeling of seclusion and safety. Now it too is gone, replaced with small yellow and red plastic flags pushed into the ground, a sign of more changes to come. The old split rail fence has fallen onto itself yielding to the pressure of change and permanently covering the container. Perhaps the area will be even more appealing after all the "improvements" are complete, but that may never happen and the spot where the cache lay for several years may never be the same. Sadly, I'll permanently close this one.
